As a kid, Ryan Cabrera would hang around Dallas telling people he was in a band to try and attract girls. He had no musical genes, no parental support and no songs in his name, but executed the plan to win over the ladies. “Me and my friends had this fake band, but none of us played instruments,” he laughs. “We just told girls we were in a band to try and score!” More than a decade later, circumstances couldn’t be more different for the 33 year old singer/songwriter. His songs have topped the charts and he hasn’t had to lie to date anyone including Hollywood beauties Ashlee Simpson and Audrina Patridge. Now, he is following up his number one dance hit House on Fire with the launch of a new band, Beyond the Sky.
