(AllHipHop News) The 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards will get the DJ Khalid treatment. The event had been hosted by Snoop Dogg for years, but Khalid is taking over othe September 17 event.

The Miami-based entertainer used his social media accounts to celebrate the announcement of his new gig. He wrote on one Instagram post, “Be ready!! Fan luv !! I got us !!!”




The chart topper added in a press release, “I am extremely honored to be a part of such an incredible show that has watched me grow as an artist and mogul throughout my career. The Hip Hop Awards are synonymous with a night of stellar performances and tributes to the greatest hip hop artists of our time. I am excited to bring cloth talk and the major keys to the Hip Hop Awards for an iconic and memorable show!”
